In Pursuit of Truth

Last fall in email correspondence, I shared several articles with the group in the discussion of "How do we know what is true, or what is true?" Jesus said in John 14:6 "I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me." We live in a post-modern age where personal experience, individual truth, and relativism is the politically correct mantra of our society. But in an article written by Dr. Bill Brown, President, Cedarville University entitled "How Did We Get Here?" philosophical ages are compared and reveal that classical philosophy believed truth could be received through revelation, reason, and experience. Articles in the Fall 2008 issue of The Torch also explore the phenomenon of Post Modernism and suggest correct responses for followers of Christ. cbmc has partnered to promote Focus on the Family's Truth Project as both organizations engage in the battle of ideas that will move people toward or away from the true God.
